PALM BAY, Fla. – Evan’s Supermarket, which was the cornerstone of the Driskell Heights neighborhood in Northeast Palm Bay during the 1960’s, is slated for demolition this Saturday.
A group of local residents have banded together to revive the long-abandoned site on the corner of Florida Avenue and Randolph Street.
The public is invited to watch the demolition, which will occur at 1:00 PM EST on December 17, 2011.
A new community market along with a youth job training center and deli will be built in place of the old Evan’s Supermarket.
The new building will be known as The Evans Center.
