14-Year-Old Oviedo Girl Killed In Traffic Accident

OVIEDO, Florida – The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 14-year-old Kyra Quinn of Oviedo, Florida died from her injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Seminole County, Florida.

FHP says that Quinn was lying in the backseat of a 2005 Chevy 4-door driven by 18-year-old Chad Hendrix of Orange City, Florida while the Chevy was traveling northbound on State Road 415.  For an unknown reason, the Chevy drifted into the southbound lanes and its left front side swiped the left rear of a southbound 2005 Toyota 4-door driven by 41-year-old James Halleran of Port Orange, Florida.

The Chevy continued to travel in the southbound lanes, and then struck the left front of a southbound 2006 Ford pickup truck driven by 35-year-old Jerimiah Frank of Osteen, Florida.  Quinn was ejected from the Chevy as a result of the impact.

Quinn was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center while Hendrix, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to Central Florida Regional.  All other drivers and passengers involved in the accident received minor or no injuries and were not hospitalized.

FHP says that this crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
