MELBOURNE, Florida — On Friday April 6, 2012 at approximately 6:40A.M., Melbourne police officers responded to a Publix supermarket located at 1411 South Babcock Street regarding an armed robbery just occurred.
Initial information indicates that the manager was outside the front doors arranging the electric carts.

While completing this task, he was approached by a white male inquiring about a job.  The manager informed the man he would have to wait until 7:00AM when the store opened to complete an application.  At this point, the man lifted his shirt displaying a handgun and ordered the manager inside the business.

Once in the business, the man robbed the store of a sum of cash and he fled outside.  Once outside, the man entered a white older model Ford Explorer or Bronco and left the area.  The suspect is described as a white male 5’08” 150 in his late 30’s early 40’s with a mustache.

He was wearing a blue horizontal stripped shirt, jeans, and a hat.  He may have also had a device in his ears similar to hearing aids.
