TITUSVILLE, Florida – As of noon on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, storms near the coasts of north Brevard County and southern Volusia County are capable of producing funnel clouds, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida.
In addition to funnel clouds, these storms can produce wind gusts to 40 mph.
Showers and thunderstorms that develop along the east coast sea breeze will have the potential to produce brief waterspouts over the Intracoastal Waterway and the nearshore Atlantic waters.
Boaters should keep an eye for storms approaching from the south and be prepared to take evasive action if a spout is sighted.
The areas affected include Mims, Scottmoor, and Oak Hill.
