TITUSVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for northwestern Brevard County, southeastern Volusia County and east central Orange County that will remain in effect until 3:45 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018.
At 2:48 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Osteen to near Scottsmoor. Movement was east at 25 mph.
An outflow boundary moving southward across Seminole, northern Brevard, and northeastern Orange counties is expected to initiate additional strong thunderstorms.
Nickel size hail and wind gusts of 50 mph will be possible with these storms.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Locations impacted include Orlando, Sanford, Titusville, Oviedo and Winter Springs, Florida.
