Courtenay Parkway To Close At Merritt Avenue Intersection On Merritt Island

MERRITT ISLAND, Florida –  Variable message boards at the intersection of North Courtenay Parkway and Merritt Avenue on Merritt Island, Florida are now in place to alert motorists of a temporary closing beginning on Friday, October 25, 2019, due to a collapsed sewer pipe.

The estimated $150,000 repair project at the site is expected to take three days to complete, weather permitting.

While repairs are underway, Merritt Island motorists will need to use alternate routes while Brevard County Utility Services works to replace 60 feet of a corroded and collapsed 12-inch iron sewer pipe.

According to Brevard County, the contractor Atlantic Development will work 24-hour days in an effort to expedite the repair.
