Suspect Arrested In Cocoa Shooting Near Peachtree Meat and Produce

COCOA, Florida – Cocoa Police have arrested a suspect following an overnight shooting in Cocoa, Florida, that left one man wounded and in critical condition.

27-year-old Latray Bell of Cocoa, Florida, is facing a charge of aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied structure.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Cocoa police responded to the area of 904 Peachtree Street after receiving reports of a fight that escalated into an exchange of gunfire.

Investigators say that a mother and daughter were outside the Peachtree Meat and Produce convenience store when they were approached by two men in a vehicle.

Police say that the parties have an ongoing feud and an argument began.

The argument escalated into a physical fight which later turned into an exchange of gunfire between the two parties.

During the exchange, a male in the vehicle was shot in the head.

The male was taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

Police say that the investigation into the shooting is still active and ongoing.
