19-Year-Old Sanford Woman Killed In Crash

SANFORD, Florida – A 19-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in a crash that occurred at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, near the intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Lake Mary Boulevard in Sanford, Florida.

20-year-old Jessica Figueroa of Casselberry, Florida was driving a 2005 Toyota southbound on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Meanwhile, 46-year-old Bobby Hayes of Sanford was driving a 2015 Ford truck northbound on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

48-year-old Kevin Weber of Sanford was driving a 2008 Chrysler northbound on Ronald Reagan Boulevard next to the Ford.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Figueroa attempted to make a left turn to travel east onto Lake Mary Boulevard which caused the Toyota to travel into the direct path of the Ford and Chrysler.

The front ends of the Ford and Chrysler then struck the right side of the Toyota.

Maya Barriera, a passenger in the Toyota, was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital where she died.

Figueroa and Weber sustained minor injuries.

Hayes did not suffer any injuries.

All of the parties involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts and alcohol was not a factor, according to FHP reports.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
