Palm Bay Man Killed In Osceola County Fiery Crash

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Florida – A Brevard County man died as a result of injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash that occurred at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, on U.S. 192 near the intersection with Hibiscus Road in Osceola County, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 69-year-old Palm Bay, Florida man was driving a 2004 Dodge pickup truck westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 192.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Joe Hernendez of Texas was driving a 2017 GMC pickup truck eastbound on U.S. 192.

The GMC pickup truck and the Dodge pickup truck collided head-on.

The Dodge overturned and caught fire.

According to FHP, the Palm Bay man’s identity will have to be confirmed by dental records due to the condition of his body.

Hernendez and his passenger, 38-year-old Bruce Bosley of Louisiana, suffered serious injuries and were transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.

Both Hernendez and Bosley were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and neither men were under the influence of alcohol, according to FHP reports.

The crash remains under investigation.
