LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida – Tourists experienced more than just viewing the famous “backside of water” during the Jungle Boat Cruise at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida after their boat took on water on Thursday afternoon.
The Jungle Cruise skippers are known for their corny jokes, one of which finally came true: that the “skipper will become their swimming instructor should the boat sink.”
“Our skipper was awesome, used a radio to get help, and we did not have wet feet or wet clothes on for very long,” one passenger tweeted.
“I can rest easy being part of the best Disney metaphor of all time.”
All of the passengers were able to exit the boat safely, according to Disney.
The water on the Jungle Cruise ride at the Magic Kingdom theme park is around 5 feet deep.
Park guests posted videos of the Jungle Cruise boat sinking on Twitter. Including one video that comedically added the Titanic movie song.
