BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – The 55 to 64-year-old age group has the most amount of coronavirus cases than any other age group in Brevard County.
At 16 cases, the 55 to 64-year-olds account for nearly one-third of all COVID-19 cases in Brevard County and is more than double the number of cases in the second-highest age group (35 to 44) which has only 7.
Despite viral videos and photos showing large gatherings of Spring Breakers around the Sunshine State, the 15 to 24 age group in Brevard County is in a three-way tie with 45 to 54-year-olds and 65 to 74-year-old with just 5 cases for each of those age groups.

The high concentration of cases among 55 to 64-year-olds in Brevard County is in stark contrast to the statewide distribution where there is significantly less disparity among the age groups between ages 25 to 64.
CDC report indicates that the highest hospitalization rates for #COVID19 are in people 65 or older and 50-64 years-old. Hospitalization rates now in those age groups are similar to the beginning of an annual flu epidemic. https://t.co/pj68iSGGPc pic.twitter.com/U3vafQOu1m
