Florida Governor Reopens Restaurants, Retail, Elective Surgery

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced today his plan to reopen Florida’s economy today that will allow restaurants and retail to reopen and elective surgeries to resume on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Restaurants will be allowed to reopen at 25% capacity indoors and 6 feet social distancing between tables for outdoor seating.

Retail stores will also be limited to 25% capacity.

Elective surgeries could resume, as clinically appropriate, on an outpatient basis.

Movie theatres, bars, gyms, hairdressers,  and other personal services will remain closed.

Schools will remain closed for the rest of the school year.

Visits to senior living facilities and hospitals will remain prohibited.

Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties are excluded from the reopening.
