COCOA BEACH, Florida – The City of Cocoa Beach City Commission will discuss enacting an alcohol ban on the beach during the next scheduled regular meeting on March 18, 2021, at 7 p.m.
“I’ve been pretty vocal about not supporting it in the past. But I think something with some limitations I may be able to support as well to balance, It has gotten a little out of control, I guess it will be an agenda item. I look forward to that discussion,” said Cocoa Beach Mayor Ben Malik during a commission meeting on March 4.
Many day-trippers from neighboring Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties come to Cocoa Beach specifically because it is one of the few Central Florida beaches that where drinking alcohol is allowed.
Cocoa Beach residents have been divided on the issue for many years.
