(Palm Bay)–On 4/14/2011, around 1700 hours patrol officers received a call of three teenage girls injured while riding on a hood of a vehicle.
Upon arrival officers learned that the three girls (ages 15, 16 and 17) were riding on the hood of a 2010 Toyota Corolla passenger car.
The driver, 16 year old Pedro Mendez, was driving the vehicle between 15-20 mph before he broke abruptly sending the three girls off the hood and injuring all three.
Witness stated the three girls were laughing while the vehicle passed her residence at a speed greater than “parade speed”. The driver was cited for Reckless Driving and the three girls were transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center under a trauma alert with head and neck injuries along with having road rash.
