Just as NASA’s Space Shuttle program comes to an end, leaving the United States without a manned spacecraft in operation, Chinese engineers are making their final preparations to launch China’s first space lab module before October 1 according to China’s state owned news
agency.
During its mission, the Tiangong-1 will dock with China’s Shenzhou-8, -9 and -10 spacecrafts.
The docking experiments are China’s first step in establishing its own space station program.
