Heavy winds have caused downed power lines in roads, power outages, downed trees and high surf throughout Brevard County.

In Cocoa Beach, a palm tree was blown so hard it precariously hung over State Road A1A in Cocoa Beach which caused a temporary lane closure of the northbound A1A lanes at 3rd Street South until Brevard County Fire Rescue crews were able to remove the tree.
The strong winds also pushed surf high into the vegetation line in south Cocoa Beach.

Notwithstanding the video and pictures in this article, the Brevard County Emergency Management Office advises that:

“Brevard beach erosion is minor at this point, with no sea oats washing out, and sand loss will be recovered naturally.”
