Remarkably, a second car flipped at the exact same location in a ditch in Cocoa during a police chase yesterday just like a separate police car chase back in September.
Yesterday’s incident began around 5:15 pm when Cocoa Police received a call of drug activity in the area of Peachtree Street and Pineapple Avenue.
An officer responded and located the suspect vehicle stopped in the road with several subjects around the car.
As the officer approached the vehicle from the front (on foot) the suspect drove off, attempting to strike the officer.
As the suspect sped off another officer spotted him and began to follow.
The second officer is the one who crashed his vehicle.
Shortly after the officer crashed, the suspect crashed and quickly fled the scene. He has not been located.
The vehicle driven by the suspect was a rental car.
As police were investigating this incident a person responded to the police department stating that they had rented the car but they claimed it had been stolen just prior to the incident.
The officer in the crash receivedd minor injuries.
As exclusively reported by BrevardTimes.com, another separate incident occurred on September 13, 2011 when Cocoa police were chasing a car in the same neighborhood and the car landed in the exact same spot in the drainage ditch located at the intersection of Coral Way and Jackson Street.
