GENEVA, FLORIDA – The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy in Geneva, Florida.
At approximately noon, Seminole County Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Mullett Lake Park Road in response to a call involving an injured child. According to witnesses on the scene, 36-year-old Robert Dorst was attempting to make repairs on a vehicle when it is believed to have either rolled or slipped off a jack supporting it.
Five-year-old Liam Dorst was playing near the vehicle at the time and was caught underneath. The child was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital and pronounced dead a short time thereafter.
Although the preliminary investigation indicates that this was a tragic accident, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit will conduct an investigation, as is standard protocol in such cases.
