MELBOURNE, Fla. — On Wednesday December 21, 2011 at approximately 7:35 PM, Melbourne Police responded to 653 East University Blvd in reference to an armed disturbance with two gunshot victims.
Upon arrival, the two victims were located and transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Preliminary investigation indicates that two subjects got into a verbal altercation just east of the above location, when one subject pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds striking one of the subjects.
One of the rounds fired also struck a bystander that was in front of the above listed address. Neither injury appears life threatening at this time.
The only suspect information provided was a black male wearing all black who immediately fled the area. This case is currently under investigation.
