Race Trac Wants To Build 20 Pump Cocoa Beach Gas Station

COCOA BEACH, Fla. — The City of Cocoa Beach Board of Adjustment will consider today at its 6:30 p.m. hearing whether to permit Race Trac a variance to build a 20 pump gas station on the northeast corner of  the intersection of St. Lucie Lane and Atlantic Avenue (State Road A1A).

The design also calls for a small convenience store and canopy to cover the pump islands.
The property in question is comprised of three lots: Harvey Groves, the former Burger King lot, and an adjacent vacant lot to the east.

Historically, the tourist area of Cocoa Beach was once occupied by several full service gas stations which went by the wayside in the 1980’s and 1990’s.  A Shell station was once located on the northwest corner of the same intersection.

The Cocoa Beach City Staff memo recommends that the Board approve the variance, provided Race Trac makes adjustments to fit within the City’s Comprehensive Zoning Plan.

Race Trac gas stations often have some of the lowest gas prices in Brevard County.
