Indian Harbor Beach Bartender Wins $500 A Week For Life

INDIAN HARBOR BEACH, Florida –  The Florida Lottery announced that 27-year-old Austin Hale of Indian Harbor Beach claimed a top prize of $500 a week for life in the new LUCKY $500 A WEEK FOR LIFE $1 Scratch-Off game, at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
Hale chose to receive the winnings in weekly payments of $500 for a minimum of 20 years.  He purchased his winning Scratch-Off ticket at 7-Eleven, located at 1899 South Patrick Drive in Indian Harbor Beach.
According to Hale, “The other day while I was at the gas station I decided to try my luck by picking up $5 worth of the new $1 LUCKY $500 A WEEK FOR LIFE Scratch-Off ticket and the third ticket I scratched was the top prize winner.” He added that while he has no immediate plans for the money, he enjoys his job as a bartender and despite his recent winnings has no plans to quit.
The $1 game, LUCKY $500 A WEEK FOR LIFE launched on February 7, 2012.  There are three $500 a week for life top prizes remaining. The overall odds of winning a prize are one in 4.98.
The Florida Lottery introduced its first LUCKY FOR LIFE-themed Scratch-Off game 15 years ago with the launch of $2 WIN FOR LIFE. The game performed so well that it was reintroduced in 1999 and 2000.
Then in 2004, $10 SET FOR LIFE was launched, offering $5,000 a year for life top prizes, and it was followed by the first $20 LUCKY FOR LIFE ticket offering $100,000 a year for life top prizes.
Throughout the years the LIFE family has become one of the Lottery’s best selling families of Scratch-Off games.
Currently, there are five LUCKY FOR LIFE-themed Scratch-Off games available, ranging in price from $1 to $20.
