TITUSVILLE, Florida — Brevard County Fire Rescue is reporting that the “No-Go” fire has grown to over 1,3000 acres burning just north of State Road 50 and west of I-95 just west of Titusville, Florida.
The fire is now 50% contained. The fire will be monitored overnight by fire crews.
At the present time, the brush fire is not currently causing a smoke hazard on nearby roads in Brevard County, according the Florida Highway Patrol. But winds could change later, so the Brevard County Emergency Management Office is asking drivers to use caution.
The National Weather Service advises that the fire will continue to produce a large west to east smoke plume overnight. The wind forecast is for southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph after midnight which will keep the smoke plume from becoming too thick.
However, if the atmosphere decouples in the lowest layers after midnight and the wind becomes less than 5 mph or calm, the smoke problem will become much greater.
