According to police, Firefighter/Paramedic Randy Moore admitted to several of the acts leading up to this incident and other acts committed against the victim by a fellow firefighter and to putting the substance in the canteen with another firefighter present. He understood the potential consequences of the substance had it been consumed or ignited. Moore said he did not want to kill the victim he was just upset over other issues and it went too far.
The incident occurred at Fire Station 10 located at 617 North Singleton Avenue. The substance was placed in the victim’s canteen in his wildland gear bag which is used when they fight brush fires. The substance is very flammable and could be fatal if swallowed.
Randy Moore was arrested at the Titusville Police Department at 2:45 P.M. and booked at the Brevard County Jail in Sharpes at 4:45 P.M.
Additional charges against the other firefighter are being reviewed.
