Fatal Crash In Brevard County on I-95

PALM BAY, Florida  — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 22-year-old Julian De Los Angeles of Maitland and 24-year-old Alison Goldberg from Davie were killed in a vehicle crash that occurred at 2:28 a.m. this morning.

58-year-old Joachim Tertulien of Palm Bay suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident and was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Maitland man was driving his 2011 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on I-95 near mile marker 168 when, for an unknown reason, the Jetta rear-ended a 1983 Datsun pickup truck driven by Tertulien.  The impact caused the Datsun to overturn, coming to rest on the right shoulder.  The Jetta came to rest in the middle of the southbound lanes facing east.

FHP says 51-year-old Israel Rivera of Palm Bay did not see the Jetta in the roadway when he was driving a semi truck southbound on I-95 . The front end of Rivera’s semi-tractor trailer truck struck the left side of the Jetta. Both vehicles then traveled off of the highway coming to rest in nearby woods.

The crash remains under investigation.
