Man Shot In Palm Bay

PALM BAY, Florida — Palm Bay Police Department Detectives with the Major Case Unit are currently investigating a shooting in which an unidentified male was wounded.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. today, emergency dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from a woman who stated she heard what sounded like a gunshot and glass breaking. The woman told dispatchers she was home with her boyfriend and was afraid of what happened. Officers responded to the location in the 300 block of Alamo Street.

When officers arrived, they found the male victim with a gunshot wound and he was immediately airlifted to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

Detectives are currently interviewing the female and are attempting to verify if anyone else may have been at the home prior to the shooting. Detectives are also verifying the identity of the victim and attempting to develop a timeline of events leading up to the shooting. The scene is secured and crime scene technicians are processing it for evidence.
