Melbourne Pedestrian Hit By Minivan

MELBOURNE, Florida  — Today at approximately 4:00 PM, a traffic crash occurred on U.S.1 (North Harbor City Boulevard) at the intersection of Lake Washington Road.

A 2003 Toyota Sienna minivan was traveling north on North Harbor City Boulevard entering the intersection of Lake Washington Road when it was struck on the front driver side door by a juvenile pedestrian traveling east across North Harbor City Boulevard.

The pedestrian was alert and talking at the crash scene but was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital with a compound fracture to his right leg.

Witnesses stated that the Toyota van had a solid green light and that the pedestrian ran into the van’s path of travel.

The juvenile driver is not being charged with the accident.
