COCOA, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that a van driven by 51-year-old Hiram Gonzalez-Hernandez of Cocoa struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair in Cocoa at around 8:30 p.m. tonight.
According to FHP, 55-year-old Deborah Green was in a motorized wheelchair on Lake Drive in Cocoa for an unknown reason when the van, which was traveling eastbound, hit the wheelchair near the intersection of Anne Avenue.
Green suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
