Brevard Sheriff Seeks Boys & Girls Club Golf Tournament Sponsors

VIERA, Florida — Sheriff Jack Parker will be hosting the annual “Sheriff’s United Way Spring Classic Golf Tournament” on Friday, May 18th at 8:30 am at the beautiful Duran Golf Course in Viera,Florida in Brevard County.

This will be the first big United Way of Brevard Fundraising Event for the 2012 Campaign. This year’s event is extra special because it will help to open the new Central Brevard Boys & Girls Club on Dixon

Boulevard in Cocoa, Florida.

The Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida is currently conducting a capital campaign to raise 1.85 million dollars to get this essential Boys & Girls Club in Cocoa open and established. The Cocoa Rotary purchased the old social security/bank building on Dixon Boulevard for $250,000 and donated it for the new club. The 10,000 foot building is in the process of being extensively renovated.  To this point, the Capital Campaign has raised 1.4 million of the 1.85 million dollars needed.

Boys & Girls Clubs have exceptional success and this club is essential to ensure kids stay in school and stay out of trouble. While Orange County has more than 20 clubs, Brevard County has only two (one in Melbourne and one in Mims).  A club is severely needed in the Cocoa area.

The Sheriff’s Office and United Way of Brevard have a wide variety of sponsorships available to include the $10,000 Diamond, $5,000 Platinum, $2,000 Gold (which include two foursomes), $1,000 Silver (one foursome), $500 Friend of the Sheriff Sponsorship and $100 Hole Sponsorships. Any sponsorship level would be appreciated.

All of the expenses of the actual tournament have been paid, so every dollar raised in additional sponsorships will go to the United Way of Brevard and the new Boys & Girls Club.

If you would like to sponsor this event, please send your check made out to “United Way of Brevard” and mail to: United Way of Brevard, 937 Dixon Blvd., Cocoa, Fl 32922.

Donations are tax deductible. If you have any questions about the tournament or your sponsorship, please call the tournament coordinator, Paul Drinkwater, at 321-403-0480 or paul.drinkwater@bcso.us or our main office at 321-264-5201.

Sheriff Jack Parker stated, “By this one sponsorship, you will be helping the United Way of Brevard, the new Brevard County Boys & Girls Club in Cocoa, and at-risk children in our community. You will have fun participating in what is sure to be a full tournament and a great day with wonderful and generous people coming together for a great cause”.
