Man Dies After Stabbing In Melbourne Bar
MELBOURNE, Florida — Early Saturday morning on April 7, at approximately 1:43 a.m., Melbourne Police Officers responded to the Backstreet Bar and Grill located at 1841 Avocado Avenue in Melbourne, Florida in reference to a reported stabbing.
Upon arriving at the scene, patrons of the bar identified the suspect, 60-year-old Richard Woodsmall, as the individual responsible for stabbing 55-year-old Larry Creech and another unidentified white man in his 50’s. Larry Creech and the unidentified man were transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where Larry Creech succumbed to the injuries he sustained.
The unidentified man is still undergoing treatment for his injuries and his name will not be released at this time.
Information obtained by police during the investigation resulted in Richard Woodsmall being arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the death of Larry Creech. Next-of-kin has been notified and the investigation continues at this time.
The Melbourne Police Department is currently investigating this incident and more information may be available at a later time.
