COCOA BEACH, Florida — Recently the subject of an ongoing historical and cultural debate, the Ais Indians of Brevard County represent a historical era that many residents haven’t yet explored. Local historian and author Ray Osborne will deliver a slide presentation on the lost tribes of Florida, including updated information on the “Period of Friendship” between Spanish explorers and the Ais Indians. He will discuss plans for further research into this fascinating local tribe, and musician Chris Kahl will stop by to sing a song or two.
The presentation will take place at the Cocoa Beach Public Library on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room.
