MELBOURNE, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that a 17-year-old girl from Melbourne, Florida suffered serious injuries after she fell off the back of a moving motorcycle.
FHP says that at 11:35 a.m. today, a 17-year-old girl fell was riding on the back of a 2012 Honda motorcycle driven by 35-year-old Michael Holveck, also of Melbourne, Florida. The two were traveling west on US-192 near Bumpy Road in the right travel lane.
Holveck told officials that he fell the girl begin to slide off the seat. Holveck said that he attempted to hold onto her but was unable to do so. The girl fell from the motorcycle and slid on the roadway several feet before coming to a final rest in the middle of the roadway.
The girl told officials that she felt dizzy and thinks she passed out which caused her to fall from the motorcycle seat. FHP says that she appeared to sustain severe injuries and was transported to Holmes Regional by helicopter.
