One Dead After Double Shooting In Port St. John

PORT ST. JOHN, Florida — A double shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. this morning in the 6000 block of Sunflower Drive in Port St. John, Florida.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding the shooting at 12:50 a.m. last night.  Responding deputies discovered two victims with gun shot wounds at the scene of the crime.

One of the shooting victims, 25-year-old Jeremiah Odom of Cocoa Beach, Florida, did not survive the injuries that he sustained during the shooting.  Odom’s family has been notified of his death according to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Lieutenant Alex Herrera.
The other unidentified victim is in critical condition at an intensive care unit at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.

Members of a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are on scene and are locating and identifying shell casing that were expelled from the spent rounds during the shooting.
“There are multiple crime scenes located within the neighborhood,” Herrera said.

Streets leading to the immediate area are cordoned off with orange cones and crime scene tape.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the public’s assistance with its investigation.
