“This is a remarkable achievement that speaks to the outstanding quality of our students, faculty and staff,” said BCC President, Dr. Jim Richey. “I’m extremely proud and am sure
residents across Brevard County feel the same way.”
It takes several weeks after the May 10 commencement ceremonies for BCC’s Registrar’s Office to certify that all degree and certificate requirements have been met in preparation for mailing official diplomas and certificates to graduates.
The record-setting Spring 2012 numbers represent an 8% increase over last spring’s 1,784 graduation count, with growth in both the number of two-year associate degrees conferred and an increase in students achieving career-focused diplomas and certificates that allow them to enter or advance in the work place.
Commencement featured two ceremonies, one for students of the Melbourne and Palm Bay campuses, and another for students who attend classes in Titusville and Cocoa. Videos featuring highlights from both ceremonies have been posted on the BCC website, YouTube and Facebook. Spring 2012 graduates also receive a copy of the full commencement video when they join the BCC Alumni Association.
