BREVARD COUNTY, Florida — Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Commander Doug Waller has been named the 2012 Brevard County Manager of the Yearby the Florida Space Coast Council (FSCC).
The annual FSCC award is designed to publicize the positive impact that leadership, integrity, and management skills can have on organizations and the community. Nominations are solicited from throughout Brevard County from organizations not affiliated with the FSCC.
Doug Waller is the Criminal Investigations Division Commander and has been employed with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office for the past 25 years. Commander Waller is well known for developing innovative approaches to proactively targeting crime trends in our community. He has been instrumental in the implementation of such innovative programs as the Sexual Offender Registration and Tracking Unit (SORT) and co-creator of the “GAMEOVER” (Gang And Major Epidemic Of Violence Enforcement Response) Task Force. Investigative Agents under his command have also been selected to receive the “Law Enforcement Agents of the Year Award” from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Commander Waller’s aggressive goals have led to the solving of multiple cold case homicides and is credited with many other success stories as a result of his dedication and vision to improve the safety of everyone in Brevard County.
