ORLANDO, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 19-year-old Malcom Davis of Seffner, Florida, died as the result of injuries he sustained in a D.U.I. crash near Orlando, Florida.
Just after 11 a.m. today, 52-year-old Thomas Monks of Ocoee, Florida, was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram westbound in the outside lane on State Road 408 near mile marker 4 in Orlando, Florida. Meanwhile, Davis was standing outside a 1998 Ford that was parked on the shoulder of State Road 408.
FHP troopers say that Monks drifted to the right and onto the shoulder of the road. As a result, the front of the Dodge Ram collided with Davis and the left side of the parked Ford.
The Dodge Ram then came to a final rest facing westbound on the grass shoulder of State Road 408. The Ford came to a final rest facing westbound on the grass shoulder of State Road 408.
FHP says that alcohol was a factor in the accident and that Monks has been charged with D.U.I. Manslaughter, D.U.I. with Property Damage, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Hey, Thomas Monks, I hope that alcohol was worth another persons life.
