$20 Bill Counterfeiter Arrested in Sebastian

The Sebastian Police Department has received several reports of counterfeit twenty dollar bills being distributed to numerous merchants and financial institutions throughout the City of Sebastian in Florida.

Sebastian Police officers received information from a local business that the person passing counterfeit bills was from New York and gave a description of the suspect and provided a video surveillance image.

At 4 A.M. on July 3rd, 2012, police officers came into contact with an individual sleeping in a car with a New York registration.  Further police investigation eventually revealed that the 30-year-old Harold J. Kupchek, a former resident of Sebastian, Florida, allegedly confessed to making and passing the counterfeit twenty dollar bills.

In a search of Harold Kupchek’s vehicle, police officers say that they discovered Oxycodone and drug paraphernalia.

Harold James Kupchek was charged with 5 felony counts of Uttering Forged/Counterfeit Bills, 1 felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
