OSCEOLA COUNTY, Florida — Four people were ejected from a single vehicle in a fatal accident that occurred today around 9:20 a.m. on the Florida Turnpike.
According to FHP, 24-year-old Andy Martinez of Miami, Florida was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer SUV northbound on the Florida Turnpike (just three miles north of the interchange of State Road 60 at Yeehaw Junction in southern Osceola County) when the Explorer’s rear passenger-side tire completely failed. The tire blow-out caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The Explorer then entered the center median sideways and began to roll. The vehicle rolled over the center median into the southbound lanes. Four of the six occupants were ejected as the vehicle rolled. Three of the four ejected are identified as Hilda Insante, 10, Ashley Fowler, 22, and Angelica Martinez, 22. The fourth person ejected is an adult male who was pronounced dead on the scene by Osceola County Fire Rescue and later transported to the Medical Examiner. His name has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.
FHP says that the four ejected were not using a restraint devise. The two occupants that were wearing seatbelts were not ejected. Five medical helicopters responded to the scene and transported five patients from the scene. Three patients were flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center while two other patients were flown to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida.

Maybe if Florida has some sort of mandatory car inspection system events like this won't happen as often.Unbelievable the junk you see on Florida roads...would never be allowed in a state with an inspection system.
Still can't believe your gone. 2nd Holiday season without you.
