CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida — One year ago today, on August 5, 2011, 71-year-old Cape Canaveral Dentist Frances Howard Morrell was shot and killed by Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The incident arose from a dispute that Dr. Morrell had with Whiskerz Pet Grooming, a business neighbor in the Columbia Commercial Condominium Association, Inc. located at 102 Columbia Drive, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
According to Sheriff’s deputies, Dr. Morrell had entered Whiskerz Pet Grooming with a firearm looking for the Whiskerz Pet Groomin owner, Valkyrie Flores. She was not present at the time, but her teenage daughter and daughter’s boyfriend were.
