MELBOURNE, Florida — At approximately 7:30 a.m. today, Melbourne Police Officers responded to the area of Madeira Circle and Cape Palos Drive after Officer Mark Jennewein spotted a felony domestic violence suspect walking on Madeira Circle in Melbourne, Florida.
Police say that 29-year-old Michael Young was wanted for felony domestic violence (battery by strangulation) and criminal mischief charges stemming from an incident on August 12, 2012.
Young fled on foot in the Melbourne neighborhood. So an extensive area search was conducted with the assistance of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Star Unit and Melbourne Police K-9.
Young was ultimately located and taken into custody without incident and charged with domestic violence-battery by strangulation, criminal mischief, and resisting without violence.
