Fatal Melbourne Motorcycle Crash

MELBOURNE, Florida — Traffic investigators from the Melbourne Police Department are currently investigating a vehicle crash where one man later died.

At 12:05 p.m., Melbourne Police officers responded to the area of West Hibiscus Boulevard and Glendon Drive in Melbourne, Florida for a motor vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle.


36-year-old William Davis was driving a Ford Edge northbound on Glendon Drive.  Police say that Davis made a left turn off of Glendon Drive to go westbound on West Hibiscus Boulevard while a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 62-year-old John T. Johnson, was traveling eastbound on West Hibiscus Boulevard and struck the left side of the Ford.
Johnson sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:44 p.m. Davis did not sustain any injury.

This incident is still under investigation.
