CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida — The 2012 Space Coast Music Festival celebrated the kick off of the 50th Anniversary of The City Of Cape Canaveral at Manatee Sanctuary Park on Saturday, September 29th, 2012.
Cape Canaveral City Mayor Rocky Randels with City Historian Ray Osborne in the background presented an award to young artist Tia Thomas for her artwork celebrating Cape Canaveral’s 50th Anniversary.
The event’s headliners were HI TIDE and ROCKET RANCH. The Bone Dogs, Chuxk Van Riper, John Quinlivan Heartbreaker featuring vocalist Shelly Maloney, New Gravity, The Spanks Band, Starring Blind, Steve Hodak, Jon Parrot, Rich Deems and Eddie “Willie Nelson“ Clevenger also performed.
U.S. Representative Bill Posey (R-FL) participated in a classic car show cruise organized by High Performance Hot Rod promotions with his 1966 Chevelle and presented Space Coast Music Festival organizer Sue Luley with an award followed by meeting and speaking with his constituents.
Posey’s Democratic challenger for Florida Congressional District 8 and Cape Canaveral City Council member Shannon Roberts was also at the event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Coincidentally, Roberts once owned a Chevelle as well.
