Palm Bay Home Invasion Shooting

PALM BAY, Florida — Palm Bay Police Detectives with the Major Case Unit are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the 1000-block of Whitehurst Road SW.
At approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, a 17-year-old boy was awakened by two black males wearing ski masks.  The suspects disconnected the television as they entered the home in order to make sure it was completely dark inside.
The male victim was asleep on the couch and when awakened one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and demanded all his personal property.  The suspects then went into another room and stole a laptop computer and an X-box gaming system.
As the suspects fled, they shot the victim in the buttocks area.  The suspects fled out the back slider door and the victim crawled to a neighbor’s house for help.  The victim is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
