CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida — A fire broke out on the top floor of a three-story house in the 5900 block of Ridgewood Avenue just north of the Cocoa Beach city limits in the Avon by the Sea area.
Brevard County and Cocoa Beach Fire Rescue crews were able to extinguish the fire in under 15 minutes and conducted a floor-by-floor inspection of the darkened structure with flashlights.
The five residents of the house were not injured, but did request assistance from the Florida Red Cross.
