OSCEOLA COUNTY, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol reported that 18-year-old Rachel Price of West Melbourne, Florida and 19-year-old Jamaree Cook of Palm Bay, Florida died as a result of injuries they sustained in a vehicle crash which occurred on U.S. 192 and Old Melbourne Highway in Osceola County, Florida.
Price was driving a 2003 Hyundai 4-Door westbound on U.S. 192 just after 8 p.m. last night with Cook as a passenger. Meanwhile, 47-year-old Randall Kerly was driving a 2002 Ford Pickup westbound on U.S. 192 in the left turn lane.
For an unknown reason, Troopers say that Kerly attempted to make a left turn to travel northbound on US 192 and traveled into the direct path of the Hyundai driven by Price. The front of the Hyundai then struck the right side of the Ford pickup.
The Hyundai then caught fire as it struck a 2007 Ford SUV driven by 45-year-old Patricia Will who was stopped at a light on southbound Old Melbourne Highway. Will did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
Kerly, who also did not suffer any injuries, was arrested for two counts of DUI Manslaughter following the crash.
According to FHP reports, everyone involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.
