Ground-Breaking Ceremony For Facility Named After Slain Deputy Barbara Pill

TITUSVILLE, Florida — This morning, in honor and memory of Deputy Barbara Pill, members of the community, County Leaders, our law enforcement community and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office joined as we broke ground at the future location of the Deputy Barbara A. Pill Law Enforcement Facility. This building will serve as the new Brevard County Sheriff’s Office North Precinct.

Deputy Barbara Pill’s husband, Steven Pill and son’s Agent Jeremy and Deputy Ryan Pill, took part in the ground breaking ceremony. Also participating in the ceremony was County Commissioners Robin Fisher and Trudie Infantini, Deputy County Manager Stockton Whitten and retired Sheriff, Jack Parker.

Th renaming of the facility came at the request of former Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker and the surviving relatives of Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy Barbara Pill during a County Commission meeting last October.

“One year ago today each of us felt the loss when we learned that Deputy Barbara Pill had made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,” said Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey.  “In a split second, Steve lost his wife, Jeremy and Ryan lost their mother, our agency lost a Deputy, and our community lost a friend. This new facility is dedicated to Barbara and will be a constant reminder of her dedication and commitment to the Brevard County community.”

22-year-old Brandon Lee Bradley and 19-year-old Andria Michelle Kerchner remain in custody awaiting trial in the murder of Deputy Pill.
