CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida — There will be a Full Moon tonight beginning with a moonrise over the Atlantic Ocean on Florida’s east coast at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The Moon will be 99.8% full before it sets at 1:41 a.m. the following Friday morning.
Although the total Full Moon on Thursday night appears golden to U.S. residents when it rises as the news video below shows, a partial eclipse will create the effect of a pink moon on the other side of the globe tonight.
For those planning a stroll along the beach to watch the Full Moon, the Full Moon brings along with it a 4-foot high tide that will occur around 8:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, with a few minutes of variation depending on your exact location.
