BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — The Regions Bank website is still not working this morning after the Alabama-based bank reported on Twitter yesterday that its website is down. The website re-directs to “Network Solutions” which is leading many to speculate that Regions did not renew its domain name.
UPDATE: Regions Online Banking Website Working
In a Facebook statement made around 6 p.m. yesterday, Regions Bank admitted that the website was not working “due to a domain name issue”:
“Today our customers experienced problems accessing regions.com due to a domain name issue. We’ve resolved the issue and access to our web site, including online banking, is being restored. We apologize and are doing all we can to restore service as quickly as possible. If you are still having problems accessing the web site, you may visit a branch during business hours, visit a Regions ATM, or call our contact center at 1-800-REGIONS for assistance. If you’ve downloaded the Regions Mobile Banking app, you can use it to access your accounts. For other inquiries, email us at askRegions@regions.com. Our Customer Care team is happy to help.
Earlier that day, Regions had only said that it was “experiencing and intermittent network issue” on Twitter:
“We apologize if you’re having trouble accessing regions [dot] com this morning,” Regions tweeted around 11:30 a.m. today. “We are experiencing an intermittent network issue impacting some customers’ ability to access the site.”
Although Regions had suggested it customers use its Mobile Banking app for online banking to access their accounts, many are complaining that the Regions Bank mobile app is not working for them either.
Customers are also complaining on social media that Regions is not returning their e-mails.
Regions Bank has branches throughout the Southern United States, including Florida, and is the 10th largest bank in the U.S.
