PALM BAY, Florida — Palm Bay police officers, SWAT and crisis negotiators are currently at a home on the city’s east side attempting to resolve a situation involving a reported armed man inside a residence with his two children.
At 4:35 a.m., a neighbor called 9-1-1 to report seeing the man pointing a rifle outside his window. The neighbor reported hearing gunshots.
The home is located in the 1700 block of Joshua Drive in Palm Bay, Florida. Neighbors immediately surrounding the location were advised by police to stay inside.
Police spokesperson Yvonne Martinez said in an email that, after crisis negotiators made several attempts to contact the man by cell phone and PA announcements, the man surrendered peacefully and the children are safe.
