Teen Arrested For Bringing Gun To Melbourne Middle School

MELBOURNE, Florida — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 15-year-old Melbourne boy for the possession of a firearm on school property and carrying a concealed firearm.
The teen, a Hoover Middle School student, is currently being held at the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center.

Hoover Middle School Resource Officer Deputy Doyle received an anonymous tip that the student was carrying some type of weapon.  Once the student was observed, Deputy Doyle intervened and immediately took action.  An administrative search of the student’s backpack allegedly revealed an unloaded semi-automatic handgun.  The teen was arrested on scene.
