FHP Searching For SUV That Crashed Into Waffle House, Injured 4

COCOA, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a silver or tan small SUV with front-end damage, possibly driven by a black male wearing a white shirt with red stripes, who fled the scene after crashing into a Waffle House early this morning.

Around 3:50 a.m., FHP troopers say that the SUV was parked facing west in the parking of the Waffle House located at 4465 Kings Street (State Road 520) near the I-95 exit in Cocoa, Florida.
For an unknown reason, the driver accelerated and the SUV traveled over the parking curb and struck the building where restaurant patrons were sitting inside.  The SUV then backed up and fled the scene.
Four of the five victims, who are from Titusville, Cocoa, and Rockledge, sustained minor injuries.

The building was not declared unsafe by the Brevard County Building Inspector, but he advised to use caution.
